Russell J. Schwartz is the Chief Technology Officer of Sun Chemical Corporation. He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and his master’s degree in physical chemistry from the State University of New York at Albany. Russell began his career with Sun Chemical in 1981 as a research chemist. He has progressed through a series of technical management positions and was ultimately appointed Chief Technology Officer in 2011. In 2018 Russell took on the additional responsibility of Sun Chemical’s Corporate Marketing Operations.
Russell has co-authored technical publications on particle size analysis and the properties of interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs). He co-edited “High Performance Pigments” (Wiley-VCH) and has received 139 patents in over 20 countries. Russell has lectured at Lehigh University, presenting an advanced course on pigment technology, and received NAPIM’s 2005 Technical Associate Member (TAM) Service Award.
