David Marchick is dean of the Kogod School of Business at American University. In this role, he leads the school’s work to support more than 2,000 students and offer more than two dozen undergraduate and graduate degree and certification programs. Prior to joining AU, Dean served as chief operating officer of the United States Development Finance Corporation during the first year of the Biden administration, and he also served as director of the Center for Presidential Transition at the non-profit Partnership for Public Service. He previously spent 12 years as managing director at the Carlyle Group, where he was part of the firm’s management committee and had broad responsibility for external engagements, including working with Carlyle’s funds, investors, portfolio companies and other stakeholders.
