Carlos Gonzalez is Vice President of Global Business Development within Enel X’s electric mobility division. He specializes in developing commercial solutions for global customers by integrating next-generation automotive, renewable generation, and storage technologies as well as grid services.
Prior to Enel X, Carlos drove the grid services business at Tesla and built a commercial pipeline of storage projects with residential, commercial, and utility customers. At SolarCity, Carlos was Director of Grid Engineering Solutions, a nimble, cross-functional, and strategically oriented department focused on leveraging distributed energy resources to benefit the electric grid.
At Pacific Gas and Electric, Carlos specialized in electric distribution system planning and reliability. He managed the electric distribution long-term investment plan, governing the allocation of ~$1.5B annual capital investments in infrastructure across different programs. He also managed large-scale technology projects, including a portfolio of utility-scale pilot projects in energy storage, distributed generation, and data analytics. At Analysis Group, he advised utilities to implement peak reduction and energy efficiency programs and assessed the profitability of power plants for independent power producers. Carlos holds an MBA from UC Berkeley and a BA in Economics from Macalester College.
