Brent Nelson
Senior Manager, Customer Packaging Experience (CPE
Amazon
Brent Nelson leads the development of sustainable packaging solutions for Amazon worldwide. Leveraging Amazon’s culture of thinking big, inventing at scale and bias for action, Brent has played a key role evolving the Customer Packaging Experience team to include data analytics, systems development and packaging engineering to create packaging innovations that lower cost, drive waste reduction and deliver sustainability wins for our customers and for Amazon.
Brent believes that the industry is at a major inflection point requiring brand owners to rethink product and packaging for both online and offline retail. Online retail provides distinct and powerful enablers versus traditional retail to invent packaging that delights customers. He also believes that the role of packaging in a rapidly changing retail environment increasingly must be evaluated through a sustainability lens. With increasing customer demand and expectations regarding sustainability, Brent and his team are serving as industry catalysts for challenging norms and promoting systemic change in packaging.
Previous to Amazon, Brent spent 20 years championing packaging innovation and supply chain strategies for multinational consumer goods companies such as The Coca-Cola Company, Campbell Soup Company, PepsiCo and Henkel.
Brent holds a B.S. in Packaging from Michigan State University and a MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management
